Love the M70 rifles. Very accurate and wonderful fit an finish at an excellent price point.
Don’t miss out on these rifles! They are built the way a quality bolt action rifle should be built-with old world quality. There are plenty of options out there today for cheap hunting rifles OR you could spend a little more and get a real quality rifle that you can pass down to your children. I have shot shot many of these are accuracy was always very good and 100% reliable.
I bought a model 70 in 270 win from cabelas a few years ago and after shooting it I feel like I stole it, shoots130 grain ballistic tip with varget powder inside 1/2 inch at 100 yds.I.. also shoot a cz 550 in 6.5×55. I hope you don’t mind my last statement. I wish you would make 6.5×55 swedish available in states. you would sale every one you made.
No 9.3×62 or 7×57?
Very disappointing.
Great rifles at a very reasonable prce! Where are you going to get a commercial Mauser 98 action with one piece machined bottom metal anywhere else for anything close to this price? I have to agree with William as to the 6.5×55 and the other great European calibers. 9.3×62, 7×57, maybe even 7×64. They would sell! Advertise, advertise, advertise! Get the word out!
I have several Interarms Mark X action rifles, a predecessor to the M70. I give only 4 stars for Zastava USA because 1.) Lack of metric caliber options as mentioned by othets and 2.) Lack of full stock (Mannlicher / Stutzen style) options with 20″ barrel. I consider myself fortunate to own a full stock 20″ barrel Onterarms Mark X carbine in .270 Winchester. I don’t understand why the options for M70 riglrs at Zastava USA are significantly less than Zastava Serbia.
I purchased a couple of M70s, chambered in 7mm-08, for my grandsons. I did a little work on the finish which showed off the nice walnut. I adjusted the triggers down to a crisp, clean breaking 3 1/2 lbs. trigger pull. Both of these rifles are sub MOA with a few different factory loads.
I’m sure, many years from now, my grandsons will be able to hand these rifles down to their grand children.
I’ll add another vote for some classic old world calibers like the 7x57mm Mauser, 6.5x55mm SE and the 9.3x62mm Mauser. All seem to be having a bit of a resurgence or just now being discovered here in North America. I would be a buyer for couple of 9.3x62mm if they were available.
Amazing rifle, I bought mine used and love it. Only complaints are the poorly executed checkering and wood finish. Very accurate and well built rifles nonetheless, and am looking forward to seeing these pop up more in America.
I have two of these on order in .458Win mag with delivery looking to be in July. Can’t wait. A true commercial Mauser 98 made the way they should be made. The stocks are where they save money but if you don’t like them (and they are oil finished so a little work will go a long way) they can be replaced as they take the same aftermarket stocks other like the FN, Browning FN, etc., take.
Yes, as said above please add European calibers! At least 7×57
Fullstocks full stocks full stocks ! 7×57 7mm08 9.3×62 jump on any one of them if they become available, 22 hornet and 7.62×39 full stocked also, then a 22 and 22 mag.
Full stocked rifles is all I need! 7×57,7mm08,9.3×62 in the m70. 22 hornet and 7.62×39 in the m85 then get me a 22 and 22 mag full stock and I will happy for awhile!
